Leadership Opportunities

CSU offers a wide range of leadership opportunities on campus! As a CSU student living in the residence halls, you will have the chance to be involved with the following programs and groups:

Campus Step – Up is a social justice retreat that encourages students to become more aware about issues pertaining to diversity and cross-cultural communication in a safe environment that focuses on self-reflection, education and personal growth.

LeaderShape is a week-long experience that provides participants with hands on opportunity to become stronger leaders while respecting personal values and the dignity of all people.

The REAL Experience is a certificate program that allows participants to attend workshops pertaining to effective, intellectual and cultural leadership. Students may attend just one workshop of interest or work toward the completion of varied certificates.

President’s Leadership Program (PLP) is a series of academic leadership classes that provide opportunities for participating students to expand their knowledge about themselves, diversity issues, values and ethics in the greater context of leadership development. Students may participate in any year of the program by applying in March for the following semester.

The Associated Students of Colorado State University (ASCSU) is Your student government. It functions as a liaison between the administration, the city of Fort Collins, the State of Colorado and the Nation advocating for student needs whatever they may be. ASCSU is the voice of CSU students that works to create a diverse experience for each student by promoting academic, athletic and cultural events held for all students.

LSC Governing Board strives to improve the student center operations and offerings. The board is comprised of student members, a graduate assistant advisor, and the LSC Executive Director. The group meets weekly to discuss, dialogue and vote on policies and proposals to help guide the Student Center executives with functions such as budget, student fees, foodcourt operations and renovation ideas. Student members maintain an active liaison relationship with LSC departments and other committees to share information related tot he diverse areas in which the LSC functions.

Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life is responsible for providing educational, cultural and leadership development programs, services, resources and advising for 38 chapters, their approximately 1,800 members and their respective umbrella groups and auxiliaries.
