NRHH

Mission Statement

The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is the premiere honorary, supported by NACURH – the national organization advocating for the interests and welfare of residential students – while also providing opportunities for personal growth and development. NRHH strives to provide recognition for individuals who have contributed to the advancement of college and university housing and have shown dedication to their academics and student leadership. It ensures the advancement of member chapters through resource sharing, programming, and leadership development opportunities to contribute to and support the vision of NACURH.

What Do We Do?

NRHH is a student-led leadership, recognition, service, and advocacy-focused honorary. We aim to serve the CSU campus and the larger Fort Collins community through programming, roundtable discussions, service in the halls, and a whole lot more.

The NRHH RAMS Chapter of Colorado State University is one of over 170 chapters within NACURH. The chapter members represent the top 1% of the student leaders on campus and are those who have contributed extraordinary amounts of personal time and energy to make the residence halls a home away from home. Members are selected based on academic achievement, community involvement, and ability to exemplify characteristics of a true leader in the residence hall community.

Our chapter recognizes individuals who make a difference by leading and encouraging others to do their best while also providing important leadership in the improvement and advancement of the residential experience and residential leadership. In addition to recognizing outstanding leaders, we also sponsor on-campus leadership workshops, co-sponsor programs with the Residence Hall Association, and establish residential building leadership awards through the Regional Councils. The important thing to remember is that once a member you are always a member of the CSU Rams NRHH Chapter!

FAQ

When and where are NRHH meetings?

NRHH meetings are open to all students and are held on Wednesdays at 6 pm in Durrell C.

How do you recognize others?

NRHH practices recognition through events such as the Academic Gala, which honors students who earn a 4.0 in the Fall semester, academic success certificates, submitting “Of the Months” (OTMs), hosting the “Of the Year” (OTY) Awards for the Regional Councils, and snaps (kudos) during meetings!

What are OTMs?

OTMs, or Of the Months, are monthly written submissions to our regional organization, IACURH. These submissions are written to recognize the accomplishments of students across campus, successful campus events, student and professional staff, and more. Each month, the NRHH and RHA cabinet review all submitted OTMs and vote on the ones that best recognize the person/event/subject written about and then submit those campus winners to IACURH to be reviewed for the regional winner nominees. Any IACURH winners then get sent to NACURH, our national organization, who choose national winners! You can learn more about OTM writing at our OTM page.

How do you promote service and community engagement?

We gather groups of members to attend various CSU-sponsored volunteer opportunities, such as Cans Around the Oval and CSUnity Day. We also host our own service opportunities, such as our annual Safe Trick or Treat with the campus apartments and volunteering to help with RHA and NRHH events.
